from this newsgroup. Obviously there is a lack of intelligent
readership if they need to plaugurise this group.
In this case I wouldn't worry too much - their newsfeed is so poor they're
missing half the articles here and in all their other newsgroups I checked!
More what would annoy me is that the groups aren't clearly labelled with
where they came from or that they're 'syndicated'. So casual users think
they're posting to a forum when they aren't. This lot is another one where
there's minimal labelling unless you read the FAQ:
http://www.newsgroupbanter.com/newsgroup-list/
(though the interface to alt.binaries.pictures.* is rather good)

I wouldn't call it worry, because what I post is out there anyway, on
Google etc. It's just a bit sneaky the way they do it.

Hmmm..
I also imported feeds in my forum (travelboards.eu) in the beginning
because an empty board is very unappealing.
I also saw the forum that you mentioned and I don't understand why
they do it on such a large scale. Google will understand it's
duplicate content and penalize your site because of it. I wonder if
their tactic will be succesful... |
