According to http://www.jizdenka.cz/IT.aspx the full fare from Zürich
HB
to Wien West ist EUR 77,60. Couchettes or sleeping accomodation costs
extra, a seat reservation (not obligatory) is also extra.

This is a typical fare from the ticket window.
Actually it's the Czech railways prices and what's paid for a such ticket
in
Czech Republic but they are likely to correspond more or less to what's
paid
elsewhere.
It happens to be one of few on-line sources for international ticket
prices
and thus useful.

Does anyone know how to get http://www.jizdenka.cz/IT.aspx to actual work
and calculate a fare. I have tried typing in various examples including
the
journey quoted above but cannot get it to accept my input. I have
downloaded
the help page but my Czech is not existant. I tried getting a translation
of
the various headings on the page by a web translator but the translation
was
pretty weird. and did not help. Unfortunately there are no equivalent
English translated pages. In my day some years ago as a ticket clerk with
TCV Tariff Books, it was a case of looking up each individual section for
each country, xx kms from a to b, then price the kms from the "bareme"
fares
list except for a few countries that gave a direct price for a journey.
Any
guidance out there?

Try to put in departure station after "Z" and arrival station after "Do"
then Enter. Hopefully the departure and arrival stations appears in red
together with the actual route used and the cost in Kc and EUR.
Beware though it's not always working.
Sometimes, in the case of the Scandinavian countries some funny routes are
provided, such as Stockholm-Hamburg routed via Finland-Russia

Tab also works. typing in the first characters of a name is usually
enough.

In that case, try to get the separate sections from border point to
border point.

After trying myself, now I think they are working on the system. I
noticed a few changes since yesterday and it doesn't give any fares now.
So let's wait a bit until they're finished.
