Killfile any post the has a Xref containing *politics* or *religion", and then
add any offensive individuals as they appear. These simple methods have
helped to almost completely eliminate all nonsense that I used to see.

Of course, you'll need to use something other than Google to accomplish
that.

Finally, killfile all Google posts that are the original post of any
thread, and you will filter out all the spam bots as well.

I thought they should change the name to the Mike and Eugene

I've long since given up on Misc Screwup. Even with generous
use of killfile, there's not much worth reading.

Thanks for your input Len.
I wondered why Rec.Backcountry was so dead.
I put your entire post into a folder for ref.
There are only a few people left who post to misc.survialism

Fascinating that you compare misc screwup to CB radio. I do
remember the busy days of CB when the band was useless.

Yahoo! groups has many thousands of forums. I list own
Practical Survival 3. Which is moderated, for new members.
Helps cut down on spammers. I moderate for trailing text,
require top posting, and only very seldom delete off topic
posts. But, a very, very wide range of topics are on the
list.

I plug in the CB on long trips. Turn it off when the spammers like

You use the term outdoor professionals quite loosely if you are
describing yourself. And i actually used one of your books not long
ago! to wipe my ass. Hurry up and have your girlfriend write up some
more reviews of your dangerous garbage you call writing!

Thanks for the post? The reason the group dies down is because there
are tons of us that actually spend most time outside! If he wanted to
make a statement, he could have said what was needed and left off the
bottom half of spam to save space and boredom. It was another way to
spam us with him garbage story links. He just needs to stuff up the
coffers of his booze collection before the weather turns cold!

Actually the term "Professional" just means you get some type of
remuneration for your efforts. It does NOT signify that you are
smarter, more well read, or have any kind of experience in the related
field. Definitions, it is all about Definitions........

Hmmm. I was intrigued so I looked it up.

A professional is a member of a vocation founded upon specialised
educational training.
The word professional traditionally means a person who has obtained a
degree in a professional field. The term professional is used more
generally to denote a white collar working person, or a person who
performs commercially in a field typically reserved for hobbyists or
amateurs.
In western nations, such as the United States, the term commonly
describes highly educated, mostly salaried workers, who enjoy
considerable work autonomy, economic security, a comfortable salary,
and are commonly engaged in creative and intellectually challenging
work.[1][2][3][4] Less technically, it may also refer to a person
having impressive competence in a particular activity.[5]

At least his Facebook has some truth written on it, like when he
describes himself as "an old fat guy" and when he says "Actually, I'm
always a jerk".

Odd...from what Ive seen so far....he has published a series of fairly
well recieved books.

Well recieved by who? His girlfirend/business partner?

Those that purchased copies. Ive not seen any counter claims from actual
readers. Could you please provide links to negative reviews of Lens
work?

Thank you.

Here are all the book reviews his wife has on Amazon, funny that only
Lens books are reviewed. Like I said, deception.
