Here are some great general travel tips from www.TukTukTips.com
1. Scan your passport before you leave -- e-mail it to yourself in
the event that you lose it...you can go to any internet cafe and
reprint it and take that to the US consulate.
2. Bring you student ID for discounts. A lot of places will only
accept your student ID if it has an expiration date, so if your ID
doesn't’t have one, you might consider getting and ISIC card.
3. Call your credit card companies and let them know you are leaving
for a trip -- otherwise your fraud alert may prevent you from using
your credit card. Also call your credit cards and find out if you
will be charge a service charge if you use it abroad -- most CC
companies
will charge.
