We just returned from Niagara Falls and stayed at the Fallsview
Marriott. I could seriously get addicted to the pampering we recieved
there. It is definately a 4 Diamond resort. We had a 22nd floor
fallsview room which was lavishly appointed and the view was
magnificent, right at the Canadian Falls. Everyone was friendly and
efficient. You have to use the valet parking because there is no onsite
parking, however it was fast and we tipped a couple of dollars once a
day. Now the bad, never eat anywhere remotely close to the falls,
overpriced does not begin to describe the gouging that goes on there.
We did not eat at the Marriott and one couple told us they spent $70 at
the nearby Outback. We had appatisers at the Applebees's and they were
bad and the service awful. However we found a family resturant called
Betty's in nearby Chippawa that was only 10 minutes away. The food is
fantastic and very reasonable, go there for breakfast, their wheat toast
is the best I have ever had. Another place to eat would be down Lundy's
Lane for fast food. The ugly is Clifton Hill, reminds me of Myrtle
Beach, SC or Gatlinberg Tn. All cheap souviner shops and Tatoo parlors.
Of course you must experience the falls, nothing like it on earth. The
Maid of the Mist boat ride will stay with you the rest of your life.

We stayed one night at this same hotel about 4 or 5 years ago during the
off-season (March). We got a great room rate ($80 per room for two
connecting rooms acting as a single suite) just by asking for it at the
desk.
However, we were quite dismayed by the off-site valet parking. They
lost my entire keyset (should have just given the valet key) including
the car remote which cost about $45 to replace. BTW, they never
reimbursed me for our loss which has soured me a bit on the experience.
Luckily my wife had a backup key. Otherwise, our experience was pretty
much the same as yours.

ps: I must say they had a nice bar overlooking the falls.
