The site "Lost In Space" is one I have recently built. I would like for
you(whoever visits it) to critique the site for me. Tell me what you
think. What can I add, or change to make it more interesting and
informative. Also, the site above "Lost In Space", "Jesus Is Lord",
is a Christian-based web site. This is my web-based ministry, and you
are welcome to visit and critique it as well. Thank you

I only wish people like you of shall we say a religious persuasion could
keep it to themselves, not all of us wish or want to share with you your
religious views and interpretations, whether It be any religion Christian
,Moslem , or Buda, we all have minds, so please give us the freedom to
reject what you feel, most of us of my persuasion have thought on the
subject and rejected the idea of God or any other item of worship.
So be a good fellow and keep it to yourself, and do not keep wasting your
time which is very precious and infinitely short, . |

Aw give him/her a break, will ya. He/she is not forcing you to accept
his/her religious views... and he/she certainly has every right (at least in
the United States) to express them. And even if he/she is wrong... at least
(unlike Daniel Joseph) it's topical. |

While science now has a strongly supported view (big bang/inflation etc) of
the process after the big bang, there is no evidence either way that this
was originally caused by a chance fluctuation or an act of God. That is,
there is no direct evidence from studying the stars either way. Therefore,
in this realm, both the belief that there is a God, and that there is not a
God are matters of personal belief and neither is a statement of "science."
(Quick note for those claiming that one is science and the other is
injecting God without reason: There are very strong reasons to believe in
God. These reasons are not in the realm of cosmology, but they exist and
have stood up to close examination. Therefore existence in God is not a
"blind" faith, but one with a good deal of evidence. Therefore believing in
God is at least as sound as not believing in God)
True, that discussion would fit better in some other fields. See "Darwin's
Black Box" for an example. And it is something the group as a whole has
preferred not to debate (with good reason). But since both views on the
existence of God are a matter of faith, every time someone makes a statement
that the big bang was a chance happening, that is a statement of faith.
Perhaps we should tell such people to keep their "religious" views to
themselves? If you want what you indicate is freedom from religious beliefs,
then you would have to grant others the right to freedom from the beliefs
that God does not exist.
Or maybe we should acknowledge that this man politely posted his links and
asked for feedback, just as those who claim there is no God (usually)
politely post their comments.

Nice links on the second one. Let me ask you a question.
Do you know what cepheid variables are, what they tell us about the
age of the universe, and the consequences thereof?
It's not necessarily at odds with your beliefs.

Care to share? I believe Cepheid variable (stars) are used to calculate
distances to other galaxies(?) What do they tell us about the age of the
universe, and the consequences thereof? |

Besides, it's one of the few webtv sites that has anything useful to
say :-)

WEB design: The pictures and the pages in general are too big. Many people are
getting older and have a poor eyesight ( like me) so they keep their screen
resolution at 1024x768 or LOWER ! It is considered a good practice to target a
screen resolution of 800x600. If you still want to offer big pictures like
"Carry the cross", you display first a "thumbnail", a smaller version linking to
the big version.
On LostInSpace/page2.html, the positionning of the elements are a little
confusing. It is preferable to have the pictures at left, the captions at the
right of the pictures and the WEB links directly below the captions, not
centered below the pictures. That page is confusing because the various
elements moves relatives to each other when we resize the window!
Also, at the time i am writing this (monday 22 at 18:54h EST or 23:54 UTC), at
least 4 people replied to your request but none has seen that the Moon is
orbiting Earth BACKWARD on the opening page of LostInSpace. Did they really had
a "good look" at your WEB site before replying to you? If i were you, i would
not take their opinions too seriously but Wally Angleasa is right: how is your
scientific background compared to your theologic one?
As i see it, the theory of evolution is NOT incompatible with God, on the
contrary: it is just another tool He created to get the work done! God speak to
each of us in a language we can understand: 3 000 years ago He told us about the
Creation in seven days. Today He is telling us about the Big Bang. Who knows
what will He tell us tomorrow?
I believe in God not because i researched Him, but because i FELT Him!! Notice
that i said: "I believe in God", not that i believe in scriptures. John
himself, in many of his letters said that the laws ( the scriptures ) were only
a guide, not a goal. God is THE goal.
Now, there ARE contradictions in the scriptures: the genealogy of Jesus in
Matthiew and John is a perfect example. You cannot deny that. No amount of
research will resolve that contradiction. If you try to seduce the scientific
community with such a testimony then you are wrong. I believe in God not
because of the scriptures, BUT because of my scientific researches!!! And let
me tell you this: God can be found not in the scriptures, but in every
elementary particle of this awesome Universe.
There was a scout in the forest and all the troopers died because the scout was
too busy reading the map... He was not looking at the forest in front of him!!
You understand that the scriptures are only a map; the forest of the Universe of
God is in front of you: lift your nose from the books and then you will see God!
Good night!

For starters, cepheid variables help to tell us the universe is
billions of years old.
Just seeing if you are paying attention. )
I still like your astronomy links.
Have you gotten yourself a telescope?
