Hello all,
I'm looking for nanotechnology-related chemistry PhD courses in any
university in the world, but particularly in Canada, the US, UK or
France.
I'm an ex-chemistry student looking to apply for next year... I know
deadlines are approaching fast, and I've already thought of a few
possibilities and started applying but I'd like to expand that range.
I'm interested in areas like fullerene chemistry, supramolecular
chemistry, self-assembly and anything approaching the molecular
manufacturing style ideas... Does anyone have any suggestion for good
schools, or other areas of chemistry to look into? Any recent
important papers to read? Help of any kind would be greatly
appreciated. (Apologies if I'm being a bit vague.)
Thanks,
Matthew Adams |

*Not* Purdue. Only two profs there I would consider suitable, Fenniri and
his wife (can't recall her last name), and they are leaving. Yes, Purdue is
doing a "nanotech initiative" or something, and they were supposed to be
heavily involved in it, but they are bailing out, which I take to be a Bad
Sign for it being done right.
I'm speaking as someone who got a PhD from Purdue in May '99, met Fenniri
and his wife (they were coming in during my last year), and nobody else
there had the slightest clue what I was talking about when it came to
nanotech. Now that they are out, I can't imagine that anyone there will at
all.
Don't waste your time even applying.
