I think it's sad. I enjoyed him, even when I disagreed with him. I loved his
book Big Russ about his dad as his dad worked on the plane my dad flew in
WWII. I wrote to him when he wrote about that and we corresponded about our
dads. I still wonder if his dad worked on my dad's plane, we never got
around to finding out about that, as daddy was already gone. He was only 58.
Wow. MSNBC is doing mass coverage on it.

After watching a movie, I switched over to MSNBC to catch up on the
news and was shocked to see the announcement of his death . Being a
news junkie, I've watched Tim Russert many times during these last few
months of the Democratic primary and enjoyed listening to him. His
humor and political knowledge will be missed in these upcoming days.

He is a son of Buffalo and I was raised in Buffalo and have lived in
the next suburb most of my life.
He loved Buffalo, he knew everyone, and he remembered everyone. My
old boss taught him pre-law at Canisius College and it didn't matter
when he came back to Buffalo, he would stop in and see old friends,
old mentors, old neighbors. He could work a room like a politician
and he made you feel he was happy to see you. I feel so bad for Big
Russ -- it is said parents shouldn't have to bury children, and of all
times this has happened Father's Day weekend. My dad died 26 years
ago on 6/14 -- which was the Monday before Father's Day that year I
remember being so angry on Father's Day that I didn't have a father
any longer... now Big Russ doesn't have a son --
God Bless Tim Russert -- a wonderful son, husband, father, a son of
Buffalo and a very nice man. |

What a terrible shame! We'll certainly miss him. My heart goes out to his
wife and son.

I feel bad too, my dad five years ago on 06/20 the Friday after Father's
day, which it will be this year as well. I am so sad for them. They have
talked about how he loved Buffalo and the people loved him. All I know is
how I related to his dad who was a mechanic on my dad's type of planes and
how we e-mailed about that and he was so kind. It is sad. I loved him during
elections, he got so excited. It won't be the same without him.
