Anyone mentioned it's hot has hell here on the east coast?

It's going "down" to 86° tomorrow. Wahoo!

And we're having winter. It snowed a foot in the passes -- wind blew like
crazy last night and down to 40 we got into the high 50s today. We may
actually go to 70 by Friday (gee, we're having a heat wave). It actually has
been pouring down rain and acting more like late October or either February
or March than dang near the middle of June. I've been wearing turtlenecks
for two weeks. It is terribly damp and cold. We have had the coldest first
week of June since 1894. Lovely. Granted I'd hate to have the extreme heat
you guys have been having but come on, this is ridiculous. :(

It's been in the 90's lately in northern California and will be up to
98 on Saturday. Usually I don't mind since I simply stay inside
during the hottest afternoon heat.

Yesterday, though, the man who does my yard work was coming over to do
the second cut of the season. The grass in both my front and back
yards has grown almost waist high and is as dry as hay. We both
decided, since he couldn't make it until the afternoon, it would be
too dangerous for him to be working with equipment that could produce
sparks and start a fire.

He's coming over instead on Saturday morning, and I'm just holding my
breath there will be no fire here before then. The cats are on their
own until then as they struggle through the tall grass.

((What happened to the robotic lawnmower? ))

He's resting in my library since the grass is way too tall for him. I
use MYF during the summer months, after the rainy season, when the
grass grows slower.

Thanks for the reminder, Kathy. He needs to be plugged in to get his
battery charged as he's turned off during the months when not in use.

It's hot and humid here, but it usually is this time of year, low to mid
90s, humidity anywhere from 75% to 100%. I think it's killing my daughter,
though; she just moved out here from San Diego a couple of months ago and
isn't used to the weather here.
