While I did not purchase it, the new book about Nanotech and Homeland security
by the same two authors who wrote a previous volume on MNT, I found it to be
very disappointing. While they give a good insight into what Chris and others
call Structural Nanotechnology (ie nanotubes/fibers, nano particles, etc), they
have a section that completely attacks molecular assemblers, mostly relying on
the same old arguments that have been refuted, such as Sticky Fingers, and the
claim that it would be impossible to control nanobots. What is good, though, is
that they say "To read a counter to this" go to imm.org. They give the url to
the Institute for Molecular Manufacturing. Still, for a nano book on your
shelf, it may be worth the 24.95 $ price tag. |
