starvation has been the either the result of capitalists refusing to provide

Food shortages were common in the Soviet Union and are well known to
Communist China and North Korea as well.
Historically, famine is the result of natural disasters such as
drought and pestilence. The man made causes of famine include warfare
and bad economic policy, not capitalism.

There are man made famines and famines that are not man made.
Although, in today's global economy we should be able to avoid food
shortages through proper management and provide food where needed,
major causes for famine continue to be drought and diseases that
destroy crops. Granted, in today's world warfare presents a greater
danger of famine, but still natural causes still exist.
In some cases, food sent to areas of the greatest famine is pirated or
otherwise prevented from arriving due to warfare and man made causes.
But, the statement that all famines are made made is false as is the
declaration that capitalists are to blame.

The capitalist countries tend to produce much more food than they

Well, we aren't sure about North Korea since the only source of information
has been the U.S. and the U.S. is a well known liar.
You are right though. There was famine after the Russian and Chinese
Revolutions.just as there was famine among the Native AmeriKKKan population
in AmeriKKKa's first war of occupation.

In modern history famine is always a result of Capitalism. The Famine in
Russia for example was a direct result of the Russian program of economic
modernization. During the height of the famine Russia was exporting food
onto the world market to obtain the money needed to modernize.
And in most other cases, it is a result of Capitalists refusing to provide
food to the starving at an affordable cost. |

That is just BS.
A quick search turns up the following :
http://www.fas.usda.gov/cmp/outlook/2008/Feb-08/outlook-0208.asp
The number straight from the USDA.
Seems we imported $76.5 Billion and exported $101 Billion.
Just a quick look at the other graphs shows how you are more interested
in your hatred of Bush than the facts. All of the graphs I looked
showed RECORD exports.
