We are trying to extract meta-data from characters of the Devanagari
and Prakrit script (both printed and handwritten). Meta-data means the
curvature region in the characters. Meta-data stores the co-ordinate
location of that curvature region. Here problem is that curves of
characters are not of uniform shape and size. Details of various
approaches followed to extract meta-data can be downloaded from
link :

The document contains the description of approaches, it's advantages
and problem faced in following the approach along with character
images.
Hoping to find genuine help
