A colleague has zipped an EXE file and sent to a customer. The customer
got an "Access denied" error. Reason: The EXE has unzipped the right
size, but contains only binary nulls. The zip program is PowerArchiver 2004.
There are two possibilities: File was damaged before the zip process or
the zip process went wrong. Did you experience such a behaviour, that
the zipping goes wrong?
I zipped the intact EXE file with Power Archiver 2004 and the result was OK.
Any opinions?
Regards,
Burkhard |

Third: some AV software, or mail filter, has replaced the possibly
dangerous content.

Will it also be received so by the customer?

No. I forgot to write: The file was corrupt before the sending, but
nobody had noticed it! The lack of content has nothing to do with e-mailing.

I suggest it.
