I've seen it done, it's one of those things I try to avoid getting
involved with. It's not just the obvious rust, it's that you have to cut
so far back from the hole to get to some solid metal.

More importantly, has anyone who's has attempted to repair a unibody (it
doesn't have a frame) survived the accident when the repair failed?

yes and i have more to do once the bloody snow melts the biggest trick
and concern is to weld to as much structure as possibleto give the
repair some meat to stick to. toy have to almost expect the patch to
be double the size of the damage
