There is a new, open blog site, specifically for field
researchers in Africa: http://resaf.org/

If you do any kind of field research, you can get your own free
blog on the site. Citation:

This site has been established for the benefit of field
researchers and conservationists in Africa. It serves two
purposes:

1. To allow you to communicate with the general public, i.e.
write popular articles and receive and answer public questions.

2. Communicate with other researchers and project members.

This site will get public and closed group forums on demand.

The use of this web site is free. [...]

Field researchers in Africa should have [this] opportunity,
particularly if they cannot expend the time, effort, or money to
establish their own web site. This particularly includes
research assistants, students, and conservation activists.
