What did I see?
Two nights ago (Sept. 1) I was lying on my back watching the night sky for
roughly 45 minutes. I saw two bright flashes lasting only a tenth or a
couple of tenths of a second (very brief). These flashes were very bright,
much brighter than any of the stars or planets. The flashes were about 5
minutes apart in different parts of the sky but fairly close to each other.
I would say that they could have been Iridium satellite flashes (which I
have seen) except that I did not see the satellite (moving starlike object),
just the brief very bright flash.
The sky was dark. What else (besides Iridium) might they have been?
