A quake of strength 4.2 rocked this morning Koblenz, and large sections of
the Rhine valley.
Das Erdbeben der Stärke 4.2! Richter, mit dem einige Leverkusen heute morgen
gegen 4.58 aus dem Bed geschreckt wurden, hatte sein Epizentrum in der Nähe
von Koblenz.
Es war das erste Beben, das ich jemals persönlich gefühlt habe, und muß
eines der stärksten sein das jemals in Deutschland in jüngster Zeit
registriert wurde.

Dein Erdbeben ist noch nicht auf dieser Seite aufgetaucht.
Wie stark war er? Hat das Haus geschüttelt? Sind sachen von der Wand
gefallen? Fenster gebrochen oder gibt es Krackse in Wände?

Your earthquake hasn't shown up yet.
How strong was it? Did the house shake? Did stuff fall off the wall? Any
broken windows or cracks in walls?

In October 2004 gab es ein Beben in Norddeutschland, unweit Bremen, der
Stärke 4.5.

Hm. The Steeleye Span song "One Misty Moisty Morning" does not mention
earthquakes at all. It's been quite foggy in San Francisco this summer,
but the patterns of earthquakes don't match where the fog is.
Are there many earthquakes in your brain?

You may find it sort of interesting, but if you Google-Earth the
location:
50.415¡N, 7.323¡E which is the epicenter, you will find that the quake
was a short distance from a volcano that erupted 11,230 years ago. A
lake is now in the location of the caldera. Knowing this, I find it
quite plausible that there will be more EQ's in this area, and it is
NOT abnormal. It may be unnerving for the residents, but when an area
near a volcano becomes seismically active, it may be a calling for
seismologists and volcanization to pay attention. |

Still that is no excuse for you not having a clue about the
meteorological situation in the greater part of the planet.
Whilst I have to admit there is still a certain cachet in being part
of an empire that until fairly recently was revered as a force for
good by those who knew no better, there are other parts of the planet
outside Chimpland.
You might try a little harder to pay attention.
I appreciate little things like that. Unfortunately some little things
-like for example the skid marks left over from the residue of
whatever turd someone gave you for a brain, is far too minuscule for
anyone.
Even someone with the largesse of Weatherlawyer has to have some
standards. |

And let no one deny that these standards allow Weatherlawyer to start
off a post with a clever-clever insult, insert an assertion that with a
dangerous stretch of the imagination might be mistaken for a statement

while avoiding actually saying anything worthwhile.

Since it is made up of swingometer and chronometer and there is an
absence of one type of wave as well as a depth parameter, the local
phenomenon will be different to anywhere else (and then again there is
another counter harmonic in regions some 120 degrees from the
epicentre.) |
