On the nature and goal of Cyber Tester's challenges

Within just 10-20 years, massive high-performance
non-expensive hardware coming will lead inevitably
to the next step of the competitive activity level
increase.

This step will be relied, on the largest scale ever,
upon computer algebra systems of a new generation,
one could name them, say, COSMOS, which stands for
COmputer Simulating Mathematically Open Systems.

In a nutshell, COSMOS will be a competitive weapon.

Unlike the past 50 years, mathematics will become a
vital instrument of business survival & expansion at
the same level that say now you and me wear a watch
at the wrist... almost without realizing this fact.

Actually, the challenges are a tiny fraction of what
we hope could become the definitive, world's largest
benchmark test for new powerful computer algebra
systems to be created within the next 20-30 years.

We see yet another boon of immediate nature brought
by the Cyber Tester's exact challenge top climbing.
(An in-passing remark for the advanced readers, don't
get disappointed too early, right now we are still at
the piedmont... thanks for your patience.)

While trying to beat our challenges, we the customers
now and then encounter new bugs thus hopefully helping
the computer algebra systems manufacturers to improve
their systems.

...... as I have emphasized repeatedly, Cyber Tester's
challenges are NOT about human beings, not about your
or my resourcefulness, but about modern- and next-
generation computer algebra systems' potential to deal
with some objects in a *straightforward* way -- so that
other relatively math unskilled persons could use CASs'
powers to resolve the toughest industrial, educational
and research challenges coming.

By requesting to publish the explicit human-based
solutions we hope to create, to accumulate a solid
stock of patterns to be possibly used along with
regular algorithms to handle various math tasks
automatically.

A bit more remarks.

The Cyber Tester's challenges as well as the data generated
by the experts on the basis of our challenges could help to
the developers of non-commercial computer algebra systems
like Maxima and Axiom to improve their systems.

While not ranked strictly in level of difficulties, roughly
speaking, the challenges are shown in an ascending order. In
other words, the hardest challenges are still not even shown.

Our challenges cover almost all the basis functionality built
in computer algebra systems like int, limit, simplify, series,
diff, solve, dsolve, and up to dozen of other most usable
operations.

Hopefully, some challenges or parts of them could be used to
teach student how to handle complex tasks.

While at present we'd willing not to name the exact figures,
the total number of the challenges is quite large even now
and keeps growing. Possibly, one fine day Cyber Tester would
publish a large list of the challenges so each expert could
pick up the tasks which are most appealing to his or her
computational gift.

Also, we have at least two surprises about our challenges ;)

.... but we are not sure about the exact time when we would
sound these surprises in public... still, it looks like now
we have realistic grounds to think it would not take more
than 2 years from this day ...

Any comments of any nature are much appreciated.

Best wishes,
