We need a new news group that allows discussions of this type, but is
moderated only to the extent that spam and totally off topic messages
are eliminated.

Maybe it's time for soc.nanotech. Anyone interested in helping to get
it started?

The mechanism for getting new newsgroups created has changed recently; this
