STQCH is a new wave mechanics of charge and hypercharge waves in an
exact SU(3) group of eight angles, via quantization of charge and
hypercharge. Here particle physics is treated as an eigenvalue
problem. Observables are regarded as differential operators and
particle wave functions as RFs of the eight angles. The SU(3)
IRMEFR(Irreducible Matrix Elements of Finite Rotation)1 or RFs
(Representation Functions) were first obtained in 1976, where all
SU(3) states can be calculated. More explicitly, some low-lying SU(3)
states up to `15 (4,4) representations are explicitly listed in Ref.
2. The formalism works very well and agrees well with experiment.
On the other hand, the quark model (QM) has been in the forefront of
the high energy physics on the assumption that the baryons
(antibaryons) and mesons all belong the 8 representation of SU(3).
Although the model claims it is base on the group SU(3), no slightest
consideration is given from the group-representation point of view.
QM suffers the vital flaw in mixing the states in the 3 with`3 bar
representation, which is mathematically not admissible - simply
because there is no such representation in SU(3) and no correct SU(3)
states are defined or utilized in the quark model. Further details
are shown in Ref.3. In fact, it takes a complete, rigorous solution
of SU(3)1 to resolve the problem, not a simple model.
QM also assumes mesons belong to the 8 representation, which
contradict with the fact that quarks are made of the 3 representation
only or the`3 bar representation only. Mesons in no way fit the 8
representation, as originally pointed out in 1971.4
Also such approach does not take into account the most important
aspects of the representation theory, namely the structure in the
group space and differential approach and SU(3) states.
