I have several old pairs. I can send you a set. They are not the
hypno/X-ray version, just the x-ray. You can however fry someone's
brain by looking at their head for a couple of minutes.

Cool the way
steam comes out the ears and the eyeballs bulge. Shortly after this,
you will hear a little pop, the eyeballs shrink back and glaze, and a
puddle of pee forms at their feet.

You have to replace your batteries
for each brain fry. If you don't, the second viewing only gets to the
steam out the ears before the battery goes. Then you have problems
with the person walking around, bumping into things for several days.

Well yes, this is true with the old version. My new pair is higher
powered and causes little sparks of electricity to jump between the
folds in the foil. This tends to make the guy under the hat to jump
out of it. Then just stare him down.

I have found through extensive experimentation that you can fold the
hat so as to have only 37 deg angles (+-0.5). This causes the standing
waves to dissipate. No sparks!

You do have to be careful not to bend the hat while you wear it.

Cool! But what kind of batteries power these glasses? I'm trying to
picture myself lugging around a couple of truck batteries, and thinking
this would be awfully conspicuous (although really good for developing
upper body strength).

For the sake of comfort, I have been using Mylar, and it's really hard to
keep the angles correct with that stuff. But I have to use something,
both
to deflect incoming thoughts and to keep from projecting my own.
