I am giving a couple of talks in a few weeks to a group of new graduate
nurses at a major medical center in Manhattan. The topic of my talks
is culture shock and surviving the first year of practice. I would
appreciate hearing from some new graduate nurses who are within their
first year of practice-- what are your challenges? what did you not
expect to find in practice that really surprised you? what is helping
you to succeed? what is making survival more difficult?
In appreciation to anyone who shares insights for me to draw on, I will
gladly share the final version of my power point presentation. Thanks
in advance.
