Transforming pain

I never thought life would be painless,
I knew to expect the worst:
But not becoming callous
Comes at terrific cost.

She suffers, so I suffer,
And if I cannot help
Well then I'll just get tougher
And hope she does as well.

Beautiful soul in darkness -
How she tugs on my heart,
How her resplendence startles,
Even though we be apart!

How she calls to me, how -
How she inspires me,
How I long for her now
And toward infinity!

Though I don't see her, ever
Her soul is next to mine
Her: gorgeous, tender, clever
And bound with awful pain!

What can be done about this?
What - and the anguish grows:
Life? No, not life - injustice
Of the kind rarely known:

When mankind's finest creatures
Are tossed and torn apart:
That a bug or a feature?
Is that just, is it smart?

Or is it monstrous darkness
Living through monstrous wrong?
Inferno's horror startles
Until it - becomes a song!

Until man turns to laughter
And stands wrong on its head:
She suffers, so I suffer,
But that is not the end:

Agony, darkness, sorrow -
I will embrace her pain
And then I will transform it
That she can live again.

It keeps coming back. Probably a sign that I need to do more in this
situation.

The belief that we can change a persons path, actually perpetuates the
agony.

Having read some of your posts, I can see why you would ask that question.

Only you can solve that paradox.

She asked me to be her friend. That's what I'm doing.

The title of the poem is "Transforming Pain," not "Changing Path." Once
again, that's what I'm working on now at a number of levels.

It comes with being a Scorpio (having Pluto conjunct Venus in Libra,
and Uranus in Scorpio trine Mars-Moon conjunction in Cancer helps too).

Pain is a reflection of where one is on their unique path.

Very difficult to preach in words
not to be too preachy.

But, so simple in action.
