"Dr" Eric Scott Pearl - why no criticism?

I heard this guy Eric Pearl being given an uncritical hearing by
British DJ Johnny Walker on his Drive Time show on BBC Radio 2 last
night (Wednesday).

His "Reconnected Healing" nonsense is as woo-woo as you can get but the
worst thing is, he seems to have had no critical mauling from anyone.
Anyone who purports to make cancer "disappear" is bound to raise my
skeptical hackles.

Just take a look at his website:

http://www.thereconnection.com/

His supersitious nonsense seems to be very lucrative (surprise,
surprise!).

Not only that, I am thoroughly pissed off that the BBC, whom I pay for,
are giving people like this an uncritical hearing, though I am not
surprised at Walker - who famously tried coffee enemas and other
alternative nonsense during his recent fight against cancer. You will
not be surprised to hear that he ditched the alternative for
conventional chemotherapy pretty quickly when things started to go
wrong.

This guy seems to have passed below the skeptic radar. I googled
"Dr Eric Pearl" and got over 20,000 hits, but I had to get to page
7 before I got the first one that was "skeptical".

BTW, the "Dr" means doctor of chiropracty, but apparently that wasn't a
lucrative enough scam for him.

I couldn't find anything on him at the few skeptic sites I looked
at, nor at crank.net, but Ratbags has an entry for him under "Health
frauds"

A Dr of anything "alternative" is not allowable under UK law.

"Dr" Pearl is "in-your-face" and dangerous, IMHO, see this:

" THE RECONNECTION
Dr Eric Pearl

Why are prominent doctors and medical researchers all over the world
interested in the extraordinary healings reported by the patients of Dr
Eric Pearl? What does it mean when these patients report the sudden
disappearance of afflictions such as cancers, AIDS-related diseases,
and cerebral palsy? And what does it mean when people who interact with
Dr Pearl report a sudden ability to access this healing energy not just
for themselves, but for others, too? What is this phenomenon? Well, you
might have to reconsider everything you've read until now about
conventional healing. The `new' frequencies of healing described by Dr
Pearl transcend `technique' entirely and bring you to levels beyond
those previously accessible to anyone. This book takes you on Eric
Pearl's journey from the discovery of his ability to facilitate
healings, to his well-deserved reputation as the instrument through
which this process is being introduced to the world. But most
important, The Reconnection reveals methods you can use to personally
master these new healing energies. "

Now I know that medical doctors are not the best when it comes to
hard-nosed rationality, but I can't believe that many would be taken in
by such patent nonsense.
