I can't see any cross but there's a capital "A" set on a slant just to
the left of the lower & largest of the little dark-bottomed craters.

And I'd swear that was a "T" just to the left of that.

A little T & A to boost NASA's ratings. Maybe it's a big T & A.

Not "T&A" but the slang word for "thanks".

As in... :-)

"Would you like a nice crunchy rover to go with that beagle?"

"Ta."

NASA may have a problem on its hands, dealing with the folks
who see faces and whatnot in Mars images.

Look at the following image, made by the MER-A descent camera.

Look closely mid-photo, about 1/4th of the way from the bottom,
just above the three little dark-bottomed craters.

Why, that's not a cross. . . It's a bridge!
At last, proof that Venusians have a space program! That they escaped
their dying planet and fled to Mars, where their bridges took on a
different shape to suit the lower gravity!

Somebody tell Brad, quick...

Do you suppose the Martians are trying to tell us something? Smile
