As I suspected, I could answer some of my own questions with a bit of
digging. According to
http://www.ancient-egypt.org/language/grammar/0101_linguistic.html
"the Egyptian language evolved between two important linguistic
families: the Semitic languages of the Near-East (Akkadian, Hebrew,
Arabic, ...) and the Hamitic languages of Central- and North-Africa
(Somali, Galla, Berber, ...)." So did all these people believe in the
same Gods? And what was the relationship between these peoples and
the Indo-Europeans? What cultural exchanges took place between them?
Did these people really develop language, religion and agriculture
independently of each other? I am really curious.
