| He is asking the distance from a point to a curve -- a legitimate math question. Why do you blast him? |

A couple of reasons, I assume:
First, this guy's posts here have a background:
he has been using this site as his personal pad,
to develop some personal project , and the means he
uses have been considered extremely disruptive and
upsetting to many here; so much so, that an attempt
was made to come up with a new , moderated site, just
to exclude him.
He has repeatedly refused to address,and has
even scoffed at, requests that he do things in a
less disruptive way.
On a different note, we usually expect someone to
show work and be as clear as possible in defining and
stating a problem, and stating where they are stuck. |

I think you mistook KY as Masutov.
KY is Japanese. Perhaps his English is not good. So he is very brief in his messages.
Look at his past messages, you find some of his questions are nontrivial. |

Adamk, you mistake KY for Mustov. Please do not make this mistake
again, as they are two very separate people. Mustov is an arrogant
spamming ass whom I suspect is a thirteen year old boy having fun at
our expense, while KY asks legit, if cryptic questions. Personally, I
enjoy the questions from KY, as they keep me on my toes. |

I agree that KY's questions make sense mathematically. "cryptic" is a good word to use. Until he explains the motivation for these questions, I will make no further replies, though I could easily solve all that he so far posted.
On his recent topic about distances from lines to ellipsoids and so forth, I will point out a paper of mine, the second one under "papers" on my web site.

Point taken, my bad, and my apologies for having blasted 'KY' , under the wrong assumption that he was musatov. I will not blast him anymore.
Still, I agree with other posters, in that KY should motivate his posts, or at least show some work, tho I will not blast him for it. |
