BTW the case that this specific artefact was originally
a sundial, later converted into an odometer, and used
by Essenes at Qumran etc. is VERY STRONG.
The fact that you keep ranting about it is VERY STRONG evidence
that it ended up as utter bollocks.
I never rant; I give references. Why you get
so emotional over nothing is beyond what any
reasonable and competent person can understand.
You call it 'nothing', I call it 'utter bullocks'.
Why is that emotional?
You are not a competent archaeologist re: Qumran;
You are not an achaeologist at all.
You simply have no idea what you are talking about.- Hide quoted text -

And yet, you did not avail yourself of Dr. Thiering's
archaeology when I posted it. So, I have a very good
idea and you are firmly in the wrong. You are too emotional
when the subject of Qumran comes up.

Emotional like this?

[quote]Qumran can be an explosive subject

It's no more "explosive" than a fart in the ocean. With regards to
your obsessive religious beliefs that Thiering's fantasies are
explosive, important, or even interesting; the overwhelming response
from archaeologists, historians, and people who (like you) have no
scientific understanding, is that it's simply not interesting enough
even to care. You can rant on and on and on and on and on and on and
on and on and on and on and on about Thiering's fiction as if it's
important, earth-shaking, paradigm-shifting, explosive, or any such
idiocy, but nobody else sees any reason to bother with it. You keep
pasting text and linking to the Thiering forum that you destroyed, and
to her own personal web-pages, both of which are self-published
without peer review. And you try to make the case that this non-
scientific material is somehow proof that it is, itself, correct. To
call that scholarly is about as Crunchy as it gets.
Thiering's reputation in the scientific world has been greatly
diminished by this pseudo-scientific "secret code" that she's
"discovered" (invented). Her reputation in the scientific world is now
filled with dissapointment and skepticism. And her reputation in
general is pretty much non-existent, most people have never hear of
her.
But in a persistent oldtime backwater of the net called Usenet, her
reputation is being systematically tracked down and destroyed by a
spreading Usenet-meme-worm, which I hereby name "crunchyworm." All
because of you, Carl. Your actions inspire people to killfile you and
ignore you. Your actions train Usenet readers to reflexively click
"next message" or "delete thread" whenever they see Thiering's name,
or put her name (along with yours and "Qumran") into their killfiles.
You are driving people away from Thiering. It's another part of your
hilarious stand-up comity routine. You have created the highly
effective crunchyworm, causing Thiering's name to be propagated into
killfiles all over the world. The worm doesn't spread very well on its
own--one of its weakest points. It tends to die off pretty quickly
without support. But you've been doing a grand job of sneezing the
virus in everyone's faces several times every day, and smearing in on
various random newsgroups on a regular basis, so the infection is
definitely growing. Your crunchyworm legacy!
Sucks to be you, Crunchy!
Nobody likes you, everybody hates you, guess you'll go eat
