there was a probe sent to Pluto some time ago
when it is supposed to arrive and have we heard from it lately thanks

It's called New Horizons (http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/)

It's just over half-way from Saturn to Uranus's orbit at the moment,
will cross Uranus's orbit on 03/18/2011 and encounter Pluto on 07/14/2015.

It's currently hibernating, and will wake up again next Monday to
confirm that it still exists.
