It appears as if therapists who sek seek to impose their values or
even their pathology on their patients, instead of taking the time to
listen to them long enough to be able to understand their concerns,
are not very effective.
As I understand it, the rivalry between the compassionate Carl Jung
and the dictatorial Sigmund Freud is still unresolved, and the
following is an interesting read that raises the issue in a
perfunctory manner.
Any thoughts?

Both Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung are perfect examples of why
psychology is a pseudoscience, no more 'scientific' than astrology or
palm reading.
Like traditional 'psychics,' Freud believed in the power of dream
analysis, charging gullible patients lots of money to tell them that
everything they dreamt about represented penises and vaginas (except
for cigars).
Jung was a big fan of tarot cards, believing that the random
arrangement of cards offered an insight into the human soul. Jung
also charged his patients lots of money for this 'service.'
All 'psychics' have a special ability to 'read' people, knowing what
they want to hear so as to keep them coming back for more sessions.
Psychologists are no different from astrologers, mixing mystical mumbo-
jumbo with some scientific-sounding terminology to give it
credibility. |

But psychciatry has medication to legitimize what they do. They also have
courses in colleges[more legitmiate]. They also have researchers with the
degree they earned from colleges doing the research for big pharma. It is a
circular industry that they have going.
