Ah, what memories of a simpler time. No paywalls or trolls; nice,
helpful people; the smell of paper and ink.

Of course, without the WWTubes, I'd never have met you or Doug or
Lloyd or Tedd or Peter or lots of other good folks.

Or David, Giwer, JTEM and Elijahovah, either.

I guess it's sort of a wash.

Sadly, even today, in the library, you won't find
calendars, maps, literature, scrolls, meteorology,
politics, evolution, and assorted disorders, all
sitting on the same shelf, and all pretending to
be something they aren't.

Our way is so much more "entertaining".

Lloyd -

you should stick your head once in a while
into Google Scholar re: archaeology.

Or, and this will blow your little mind, Lloyd could literally walk
100 yards and talk to some of the top actual, working archies in their
fields, right in their lab/museum, about what they were working on
even as they spoke.
[/quote]
It does NOT blow my mind because I am not
easily impressed.

assed local news folks or Chamber of Commerce types, no 'gee whiz'
boosters of the mysterious and secret TRVTH (tm), no ignoramuses

about.

Just the straight scoop from people who not only know their beans
about real archaeology, but also know how to explain what they are
doing in words clear, precise, accurate and absolutely current.

Though I am sure your way is much, much better. <ironic, mocking

I don't care about your ironic, mocking humor.

Further, you forgot all about Berlin’s Neues Museum.

I think your mind suffers from division. On the one
hand, you sometimes talk archaeology with me; on
the other, you act like an arrogant SOB with me.
Which is it?

Yes, you are. You are impressed with 'archaeological' information that
is banal, and often false. Were you to visit MVAC and speak with one
of the archaeologists there about actual archaeology, you would
probably be bored or confused. You have shown no capacity to
appreciate actual, working archaeology.

I seldom or never talk archaeology with you. I may talk archaeology
*to* you; but you haven't shown any capacity to talk about it *back*.
You know, as in 'discussion'. Not something you have appear to be able
to do.

I will admit that I'm sometimes an arrogant son of a bitch. Usually
when I have some competence in something and someone else claims to
have competence in the same thing, but doesn't. I can see where your
confusion comes from. But it is *your* confusion, not anyone else's.

You god has no morals. What would a god need with a moral code? Are
not its genocidal actions and petulent, murderous, jealous rages ample
evidence it has no morality at all?

To keep this on topic Hammurabi was smart enough to put his code in
writing.
