evaluating therapy...

My adult daughter has been in therapy for 2 or 3 years. Anxiety,
depression, agoraphobia. Some in the family are concerned about what
they see as a lack of progress. My daughter feels that she is
progressing and accepts therapy as a long and often frustrating
process.

As for me, I don't feel sufficiently knowledgeable to say one way or
the other. This difference among family members is important because
the doubters seem to want to mount some sort of calvary charge to
force change. To date, my daughter is unaware of this unrest amongst
the troops.

What to do?? Should I or we seek permission to speak with her
therapist? Should we somehow effect an evaluation by a third party,
another professional?

i think you should talk to her therapist. 2 or 3 years is too long to
keep someone for phobic issues. May take longer for depression,,, but
anxiety, unless its ptsd should be treated in months not years.
