How Beano works?...

I have observed that, contrary to what the package says, Beano does
not reduce the amount of intestinal gas one produces, but it does
convert it to an odorless product. Thus one can fart away with
impunityt.

Can anyone confirm or deny this claim? Can any chemist identify the
reaction that accomplishes this alchemy, if it exists?
