I guess I haven't been sleeping enough. Or maybe too much. Too much too little?
That makes sense. It's all late movies and dark nights, closed doors and cold,
open windows. No wind. Silent, cold, untelling air. Is the air I breathe aware
of me? The air I spin with my hand, hundreds of spiraling currents, are they
aware of their circulation? We are unaware the rate of speed we're traveling
through space. We think we're not getting anywhere at all, we feel the world is
stuck where it is, and we forget the hundreds of thousands of miles per hour
we're zipping through this vast space. We're a car in the road of our galaxy,
traveling through a city of more galaxies. These cities shrink and grow,
galaxies are birthed and galaxies die, and we feel pointless. We ask ourselves
what our lives amount to, do these galaxies too fear death? What of the
Universe? Does it look forward and see a cold future? Does it realize this cold
future might collapse, and even after its death, an equal consciousness will
develop? Why do we think this does not happen to us? Reincarnation? Of course
not. That would require our consciousness to move across space, when it is
spacially clearly defined. Our consciousness must be a small bit of our brain,
a bit that will enter a different, but equal consciousness. The time between
these consciousnesses is not perceived, such as time did not exist at the
moment of the Big Bang. The time was there, the Universe was simply not aware
of it. Such I imagine it is with death. A million years may pass, but I will
perceive no difference in time, nor will I ever be aware of its presense or
passing. I will never remember my previous lives. They might as well not exist.
However, if nothing perceives them, do they really exist? I don't believe so.
Therefore, something must be aware of our several lives. That would be the
Universe. Something must also be aware of this Universe's past lives, and so
on, ad infinitum. I do believe that's how it goes. I also am unsure of where on
this spectrum we are. Are we really at the bottom of infinity? Is a brain the
lowest of all possible consciousnesses? The lowest of an infinite strand? That
seems a large assumption. Life must exist at -all- levels of existance. Humans,
plants, microbes, machines. Amoebas and atoms. Quarks, too. Are there levels of
consciousness below quarks? Space itself? Or are there smaller levels beneath
quarks? Is the Multiverse aware of us, or only Universes? It is a cliche idea,
but what if a Universe of sorts is shelled within that quark? In this way, all
consciousnesses are equal. They are all equally infinite. Awareness, however,
is a different matter, I believe. Awareness is due to material sensibility. An
atom does not have much to sense, I'd imagine, and not enough memory to even
ask the most essential of all thoughts, the one question that drives all
possible thought is (this is an entirely different discussion, but yes, I
believe this is true as well), "I?" Perhaps that is lower existance's only
capability. To ask I. Are we then the lowest form of life that can surpass
beyond that question? I don't believe so. I believe lower animals also have
this capability. Ours is simply extended. Are we able then to Say "I."? Perhaps
that is the marker of sentience. The ability not to ask, but to say, "I." In
that way, we might be the lowest on this planet on that chain. An interesting
place to be, I believe. I'd like to see where my consciousness will find itself
next time around the Awareness belt. Perhaps I'll be down to some roach a few
million years from now. Wouldn't that be a kick. Perhaps I'll be some Alien
visitor spying on some Iain Wilson back in my time machine. That'd be a hoot. I
bet God will get a kick out of that one. That brings up a good question. Is God
(Universe consciousness) aware of the other consciousnesses within it? I don't
believe so. We are not even aware of each other's consciousnesses. That doesn't
mean it's an impossibility. It'd be nice to think that God is aware of each
time we wake up and fall asleep in this cosmic reincarnation, I suppose.
However, it's nice in the sense that it puts us in a position of power. A
continuing consciousness that might possibly have free will. In that case, this
is freedom at its highest. After our deaths, no one will be aware of our past
crimes. A complete start over, with complete impunity. We are all slaves and
masters of the Universe. We control what it is aware of. We control its
consciousness. It will make decisions with our input. We too are in turn affect
by it, we are controlled by its laws of Physics. Interesting, the power
struggle, in that sense. What if the Universe is aware of our thoughts? Are our
combined thoughts like the thoughts in our own head? When we say things of God
and the Universe, are we telling It what to believe about Itself? What of our
own thoughts? Are there subconsciousnesses within us, controlling our own very
destiny? When someone falls to a psychosis, is that some other consciousness or
combination of consciousnesses getting unbalanced power? That's an unsettling
thought. We are slaves and masters of and to everything. God, God's God, and
all Gods are affected by Our Will, and our Will is affected by them. Romantic,
in that sense. Pure Democracy and Pure Communism. A political heaven. Haha,
listen to me, I should really get some sleep.

I found this captivating....sent chills down my spine!
There were many intriguing ideas in your post...
this bit reminded me of something:
Quote: I'd like to see where my consciousness will find itself

What if we sort of turn time on it's side....what if our
consciousness will pass through all "incarnations"...
those living now as well as those in the past and future..
we were/are/willbe everyone, or each one, at some point...
we will experience what it is to be every consciousness...
including that which we now abhor most.
(did that make sense..it's difficult to put in words)
This idea shakes me to the core....the idea that "I"
could "be" the person who is most repulsive to the
"me" that I experience now. (okay, that sounds weird)
Guess that could be the ultimate metempsychosis....
and it scares me even more than Nietzsche's
Eternal Recurrence.

Apparantly, I should too.
