Under supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), you will be
expected to design, conduct and interpret original research, to
publish the results in peer-reviewed journals, participate in grant
writing and participate cooperatively in projects with other members
of the laboratory.
This position involves full-time research and scholarship, as well as
additional professional training preparatory for a scientific career
in
academia or industry.
The laboratory studies the effect of diabetes and inflammation on cell
signaling and the regulation of transcription factors.
Experience with in vitro experiments including plasmid preparation and
cloning, transfection of mammalian cells, reporter gene assays, RNAi,
fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH), immunoblots, ChIP assays,
gel electrophoresis and PCR is desired. Experience with animal models,
immunohistochemistry and histomorphometry is highly desired.
