Is Brewer's yeast a good and balanced source of B vitamins or should I
go with a standard B-complex tablet?
And then is it true that it contains selenium and chromium?
Thanks

I take both. I limit my food yeast intake due to
its carb content to a heaping teaspoonful.
I am a low carber. Many of
the branded food yeasts have an analysis on
the label. The food yeasts are often grown on
molasses and molasses has a respectable chromium
content. I am not sure about the selenium though
there are yeast derived selenium supplements
or have been. I'd assume the makers added
selenite to the molasses and then fermented it
but I maybe wrong. One should never assume.
Also some food yeasts have vitamins added after the
fermentation. Personally I prefer the unfortified
yeasts.
