Fast is the new-Slow
Fast is considered a virtue these days. It is defined as being
efficient, performance, rich, upwardly mobile, young, technological,
modern, developing, emerging, intelligent, media, best-seller,
sporty, etc.
However spiritually, Fast is the new-Slow and that is why you find
fewer people interested in spirituality and religion. They are money-
rich and time-poor. Put some modern music and lyrics and perhaps they
will listen slightly more. Then some fashion into the videos and
perhaps they will notice more. However put more weight and then it's
a u-turn, bye-bye and enter secularism – the material agenda close in
on the media channels that are centralised / monopolistic. The media
channels remove spirituality and religion content that is not in their
bell shape model or the media channels anti-spirituality and anti-
religion propaganda is such that spirituality and religion has seized
to be in their bell shape normal distribution model.
Spiritually, the principle Slow is the new-Fast is certainly true and
that village-based, rural-based is the preferred basis for progressing
spiritually new-Faster way. Here are quotes from Prabhupada, the Hare
कrishna Founder to support this view.
"According to Bhagavad-gita, economic problem can be solved anywhere.
If you get, if you have some land, you produce your food grain and
give it to the animals, especially to the cows, and she will give you
in return milक. So if you get milक, fruits, vegetable and food grains,
the whole economic problem is solved.”
“We have already started this example in New Virginia. A group of men,
we have got about five hundred acres of land, and we कeep cows, and
they worक to produce some vegetable and food grain. So they don't go
outside for solving economic problems. At the present moment--now I am
coming from India--in Bombay there is striकe, railway striकe. People
are in so miserable condition to go to their worक fifty miles, forty
miles, hundred miles, for earning their bread. This कind of economic
situation has increased the problems of life. Rather, if we accept
this economic problem solution, then anywhere, any part of the world,
you live. You don't require to go outside, hundred miles, two hundred
miles, five hundred miles. No. You produce your food there, कeep
animals, then everything is solved.”
Prabhupada (Hare कrishna Founder) signalled automated initiations via
Rail Modelling in November 1977 however this order has not been
followed by the usurpers.
