((The one I
liked was the Day after tomorrow. With the ice freezing everything.
Boy that was a good one.))
I agree, Sue, and Dennis Quaid made a great hero. Slogging through
all that snow, tossing his buddy down through a window as the area
around him started to freeze, the man even looked good in a parka.

The one I liked was Supervolcano, a movie about a volcano under Yellowstone
National Park that erupts. It mainly had good special effects and
believable ones. Since the world's largest volcano actually is under
Yellowstone and the eruption could happen, it was an interesting movie.

Rats, Netflix doesn't seem to have that one. It sounded really interesting!

It was a TV movie. I looked on Hulu, but didn't find it. It probably is[/quote:6087a52baa]

((I haven't heard of that one, and I do love a good disaster or end-of-
world
scenario movie! When does it come out? ))
Anne, the promos on TV said the movie "2012" will be out in
November.
I expect from now until December 21, 2012, there will be many TV
specials about that date. The History channel already has had quite a
few. There has been one that gives 10 ways the world might end, which
I found fascinating.
Neal, I remember seeing a show about the Yellowstone supervolcano and
how the United States would be affected. Not sure if it was a TV
special or the actual movie you mentioned. Did you see the Tommy Lee
Jones movie "Volcano" about one in L.A? That was a fun one to watch
since I've actually been to the La Brea Tar Pits years ago.

Judity,
The Yellowstone supervolcano was either on PBS, Discover, or NatGeo. We
also saw it. It was very interesting. I don't recall if we are far
enough away to escape the immediate danger or not.

Yes, Bob, that's the one I saw. Living here 50 miles north of San
Francisco, I imagine we would get the dust cloud from the eruption.
There is a dormant volcano, though, closer to where I live. I just
can't remember where it is.

It's not Mount Diablo (which I can see from my front window), regardless
of how much the rumor has spread in the Bay Area that it is. |

No, Samantha, that wasn't the one I was thinking of, although you
have to admit Diablo is a perfect name for a volcano. (laughing)
The name mammoth vaguely comes to mind. Is there a Mount Mammoth some
place in California?
