There are two weight problem types. There is either a problem of TOO
LITTLE or a problem of TOO MUCH in childhood. That sets up a weight
problem pattern as an adult.
1. Overweight (anabolic-type) Always hungry. Need for affection and
approval. Often dependent on others.
Main Psychological Problem -"Prove to me you love me. I am still
hungry for love."
People are nice - love me.
2. Underweight (catabolic - type) Always full.
Main Psychological Problem - "Leave me alone. I've had my fill of you.
I've had enough."
People are mean - leave me alone.
This can best be seen in extreme cases of people that are excessively
overweight or underweight.
There seems to be a pattern of food in/waste out set up in early
childhood that is almost impossible to change as adults. It may have
something to do with problems of too much or too little breast feeding. |
