I can't believe nobody's talking about Cap & Trade. I
would love to have every single governing official who
voted (or is yet to vote) on Cap & Trade to be tarred,
feathered, and run out of Washington on a rail, never
to be seen nor heard from again.

Karen C. Boy, ain't that the truth. All of that took place the day Michael
Jackson died and nothing else was on the news. What a load of crap!! I[/quote:3553769c31]
don't think running them out of Washington is far enough. What a bunch

Glenn Beck had been talking about it for awhile. (His
book, *Common Sense* is a must read, IMO.) He'd warned
for at least a week that they'd slip it through on a
Friday, and that's exactly what they did. Michael
Jackson's death was a perfect decoy for them. Most
people I've talked with don't even know what "Cap &
Trade" is. It boggles the mind.
People were concerned about all the jobs going
overseas. We ain't seen nothin' yet.
With very few exceptions, the whole bunch in Washington
are nothing but leeches. (I'm talking both sides of
the aisle.) I'm convinced that there's a special place
in Hell for these people and what they're doing to us.

Karen - The first place I heard it was on Glenn Beck's radio program,
then on his show, and you're right about him. Smart man! I think most
people believe he is Republican. He isn't, nor is he a Democrat. He is
a Libertarian and although I don't know anything about that party I
trust everything he says. He does know our political history. People
should take off their "party" hats and just listen to what he has to
say. I've always been a little right of the middle road Independent
until now but after this fiasco we are going through now I'm a flaming
right wing conservative. I know that isn't a popular position to take
on this forum but - oh well.

They couldn't think that if they listened to him on the
radio or watched his TV program.

The way I understand it, the biggest thing about
Libertarian way of thought is that they want to keep
gov't out of our lives as much as possible. (Count me
in for that!)

I agree. I've learned more about our history from
watching his TV program than all my years in school.
(Helps that he's funny, too, I have to admit.)

Unfortunately, Republicans have been big spenders too.
Both parties have gotten us into this mess. It's going
to get a whole lot worse, too, unfortunately. It has

spending. It's unsustainable.

I agree. I think we need to get rid of all but about 10% on both sides
and start over. Even most of those who don't agree with the way things
are being done don't have the moxy it takes to say it publically and
stand up for what is right. With elections coming up in 2010 they
better start deciding whose side they are on if they want to keep their
jobs.
I'm almost 68 years old and still working. I've never been afraid of
anything in my life before but I certainly am now. Ah well,
sigh......at least they haven't taken away my right to whine about
things I don't like - not yet anyway.

Frankly, I'm not even sure we have 10 percent who are
worth fooling with.

Or they SAY they disagree when talking with the public,
but then they turn around and vote the complete
opposite. ("No pork! No pork!" Then they vote in the
pork. Grrrrrrrrrr!)

But if we have more of the same idiots running against
them . . .

There are a lot of us out here who feel the same way.
I only 55, but I have several health issues. I
probably could qualify for Medicare and Social
Security, but I suspect the system to go belly up by
the time the paperwork could go through, anyway. I
have no other choice but to work until I drop.

obviously he

Even if so, I think he still makes more sense than

Sue, I have to wonder if you can ever post without using foul language. I
haven't seen one of yours lately that didn't contain it.

His radio show is a lot different from his TV show too.
He deals with serious issues on the radio, but he also
does a lot of goofing off on the radio program with his
sidekick.
I like both his radio and TV shows, but his TV show is
*the one show* I try to catch every day.
