Hi all,
I'm at week 3 incubating some duck eggs. Everything looks good for
the most part, but every egg I candled had its air cell in the
downward position in the turner!
Should it be upward? |

Up if you're eggs sit on their ends like in an egg carton.

Some turners have the egg sitting upright though, then the air cell
needs to be up.

Yup, if you cannot lie it down, then upwards, indeed, but you need to tilt
the eggs from side to side 3 times a day otherwise the embryo will stick.
Always an odd number of times so the egg is not lying on the same side
overnight.

Unless the eggs are being incubated in an upward position as some incubators[/quote:d9cf2274f0]
like. In which case the air space should be up, with the pointed end of the
egg downwards.

Yes, well, there wasn't any pointed end. Or perhaps there was.
Nonetheless it turned out well. |
