I am trying to understand the statistics for data mining purposes
only; (tool will be TeraMiner & Kxen). Kindly explain the business
purpose of following terms as well + some extra info around following
concepts.
- Difference between Standard Coefficient & B-Coefficient
(in linear regression y = mx + c; m is the B-cofficient then whats
standard coefficient)
- R-Seq: measures the strength of association; greater it is better
it is; whats Adjusted R-Seq & Incremental R-Seq
- DF(Degree of Freedom) is the number of independent variables ?
- Sum of Squares ?
- T-Stat & P-Value: T-Stat = B-coefficient/Standard_error; what
business value it gives ? & P-value is its probability(less it is
better it is)
- F-Stat: ?? i saw larger it is better it is
- W-Stat: = T-Stat * T-Stat -- what business value it gives
- F-Test: Variance of two groups are equal(large it is better it is)
- Z-Test: to check wether sample & population are consistent wiht
eachother(we check mean of both)
- T-Test: means of two groups are same/different; compare two
samples ?
- Chi-Test: ?
- Difference between following regression & Residual values of:
- P-Values
- F-ratio
- DF
