I've finally decided to have a crown made for my #9 tooth. (recap: 29
yr old female, broke tooth at young age, been restored with bonding
but dentist is saying there is decay and I need to crown it- it
already has a root canal).
The question is I have an important interview the day after the
permanent crown is going to be cemented and I am wondering if I am
taking any risk. How is the procedure and will I feel pain or anything
afterward? I cannot miss that interview.
I am having my teeth bleached, then 2 weeks later I have the 1st
appointment where they will put in the temporary crown and then 10
days later the 2nd appointment. Dentist said the lab can turn it
around that fast if they know about it. Just worried about having an
important interview the day after the 2nd appointment.
what are your thoughts? |

There shouldn't be a concern about pain. Only risk is if the dentist
or lab screws up and the crown looks bad--there won't be time for a
redo. But I'm assuming your dentist and lab know what they're doing, so
it shouldn't happen.
Good luck,

The way I read it:
"I am having my teeth bleached, then *2 weeks later* I have the 1st
appointment where they will put in the temporary crown...."

I assume this to be vital bleaching of the arch--seems to be prior to
crown prep. At first I saw this and wondered if this was an internal
bleach, but on second reading I think probably not.
