Hello,
I don't like taking "drugs" for my heartburn, so I've always taken
Mylanta Gelcaps, which are basically just like Tums or Rolaids but in
a capsule that is swallowed rather than a chewable tablet. I had a
large supply and I just ran out of Mylanta Gelcaps, only to discover
that they appear to be discontinued. I absolutely hate taking Tums
and Rolaids because they leave a terrible taste in my mouth. I do not
want to take drugs such as Zantac, Prilosec, etc. because they have
systemic effects and their long-term safety has not been studied. I
generally avoid taking drugs whenever possible.
So, is anyone aware of another brand of antacid that comes in a gelcap
or capsule other than the discontinued Mylanta Gelcaps? I remeber
seeing drug store/generic versions a long time ago, but I can't find
those now either. I've been taking Tums the past few days and it
leaves such as bad taste in my mouth that I have to brush my teeth
every time I take them. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!
