LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Comedian George Carlin, a counter-culture hero
famed for his routines about drugs, dirty words and the demise of
humanity, died of heart failure at a Los Angeles-area hospital on
Sunday. He was 71.

His comedy was a big part of my youth, and I still remember many of
his routines. RIP, George.

Same here, Doug, I am stricken by this news! Today on Fresh Air, Terri
Gross is running parts of interviews she did with him in 1990 and 2004,
go take a listen if you can, Carlin talks about his childhood and
upbringing, very interesting, funny and touching stuff.

I am sorry to hear of his passing. Some of his stuff I liked, but thought
his mouth was a little much at times, turned him off often. Carol V.
