Some idiot in the 1920's recommended studying the Snellen chart to
*eliminate refractive error.*
That does not mean it works.
You can't grow taller or shorter by measuring yourself every day.
No matter how ridiculous the idea, still there are gullible people who will
believe it.

If this is re "the world is made of elephants" I wasn't thinking
Ankmoorpork, but the five blind men studying an elephant.
We only get little peeks at everything and it's too easy to impose imaginary
explanations.
