I asked the question in the other thread. Why decode his kind of stuff
when it is an ugly writing.
Anybody honestly running a challenge would have nice things to write
about.
A pigpen as a cipher can be decoded by substitution.
|_ means an exact letter. So a search for "the" leads to the
challenge. A single phrase in the free entry code appears.
A ##XX is the phrase.
So I do not get the motive for such self gratification. |

More to the point, does he actually have the $5000 to give the winner,
and will he pay up when done? |

The phrase in the pigpen depends on how you look at it. Don't expect it to
be as ordinary as a pigpen and you'll see the message.

Yes I do. And Yes I will. |

Douglas,
I'm sorry you feel my challenge is a 'lousey contest', but I believe there
may be a misunderstanding. I hope I can clear up any questions/concerns you
may have.
As for the free entry pigpen on the status page... It all depends on how
you look at the text of the message. My goal was to get people to look at
the entire message, not just individual letters. If you decipher it in the
proper manner, then use a Vigenere, you may see the expected message (if
you are looking at the message as a whole and not as individual letters).
If you just decode the message as a simple pigpen, you will not see the
message I intended for you to see. I must admit the message isn't much of a
message, just a test for you to pass.
Your comment on my calling women a bad word makes me wonder if there was
misunderstanding of one of the sample phrases. I would never,
intentionally, do such a thing. If you let me know the exact phrase in
question, maybe I can clear up any confusion.
I have a few goals with my challenge. One is to provide people with several
hours of entertainment solving puzzles. Another is to provide someone with
the opportunity to earn (not win) $5000. I don't intend to make it easy,
but believe me; I do want the tenth message to be solved. The tenth phase
contains... well, let me just say, the tenth message is very important to
me. When the tenth message is solved, an individual will have earned $5000
to do with as they please, and a specific charity will receive a donation
from me. This specific charity is very important to me (and 1.5 million
other Americans, plus millions more around the world). Hopefully, if you
participate in the challenge and feel you've received enough entertainment
for your entry fee, you may consider a donation to a charity (any charity)
as well.
If anyone has any questions about the challenge, please don't hesitate to
ask, I would be happy to answer them.
Thank you,
DanielRed
