OK, a story:
I work in a large building (say 5000 people) with about 20 euphemisms
(washrooms, restrooms, WCs) per opposite sex. I drink a lot of coffee
and have meetings all over the building, so I'm a frequent visitor to
many of them.
Now at almost all times, in almost all these rooms, I find toilet
paper on the floors of the stalls, often looking carefully arranged.
Why is this? I'd really like to know.
I have a few theories:
1. The dispensers are really hard to use, and I'm the only guy who
hasn't noticed.
2. The janitor has an obsessive compulsive disorder.
3. The floors are too shiny and paper is strategically positioned to
prevent reflections
4. Gay boy scouts are leaving trail markers ("Meet at 5 in stall 2 if
you like to waltz.")
5. It's cultural - but which culture? I work in a very multi-cultural
area, and in addition to many Canadians with long-ago ancestors from
Britain, Ireland and USA we have hundreds each of
- 1st generation Slavs from the Balkans
- 1st generation Hindus from India
- 1st generation Moslems from Middle East and Pakistan
- 1st & 2nd generation blacks from Caribbean and Africa
- 2nd generation Chinese from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.
Anyone have facts or theories? |
