Job Title: Parent Seed and Hybrid Seed Production Coordinator
Location: Southern Alberta Home Office
Our Client provides innovative technologies for the seed sector, the
crop protection sector and agricultural biotechnology. Their global
sales exceed 3 billion dollars. This is a very exciting time in their
history. With the development of new traits their seed business is
growing dramatically. They are significantly expanding their
investment in canola seed research and hybrid seed production. They
are looking for a Masters Level or PhD Level agronomist to take
responsibility for, 1) parent seed multiplication, and 2) hybrid seed
production.
As the Parent Seed and Hybrid Seed Production Coordinator you will:
- Influence and participate in the design of a hybrid seed production
system.
- Develop, implement and manage the seed multiplication protocols.
- Facilitate the Quality Management system
- Collaborate with the Seed Breeders to assess lines and improve
quality and yields.
- Coordinate and oversee contracted growers in Canada, the US and
Chile.
- Capture the technical data required to make variety advancement
business decisions and fulfill scientific and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate the certification process with CSGA and CFIA.
You will be based out of a home office in Southern Alberta. The ideal
location would be Lethbridge but we are flexible, (you could live at
the lake).
To be considered for this position you must have hybrid seed
production experience, (preferably in canola). A Masters Degree is
preferred.
