Yup.......And the Dumb Bastards ***STILL*** want to Blame It on the
Writer's Strike........Donchaknow.........

"TV viewership still down in wake of 100-day writers strike

May 11, 12:47 PM EDT

NEW YORK (AP) -- Television heads into its biggest week with the
hangover from a 100-day writers strike persisting.

Viewership is down, although it's hard to tell how much the strike is
to blame. This week's "upfront" presentations by broadcasters
outlining their fall schedules, which annually precedes a multibillion
dollar ad buying binge, promises to be much different than before.

"The strike had a number of impacts," said Alan Wurtzel, NBC Universal
research chief, "but as with everything it's never very clear or
direct or black and white."

ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC had nearly 9 percent fewer viewers in April and
May so far than during the same period a year ago, according to
Nielsen Media Research."

Could it possibly all of those inane and sorryass "reality" shows that
has drove many( over 30) to dvds and internet movie share sites?!
Every channel is for IDIOTS! Young fools who actually watch
commercials. Corp advertisers is FULL control! "We want the younger
viewers! Dumber the better!"

When folks tell me that I HAVE to get a converter, for my TV, I tell
em the truth, I will throw the piece of shit out into the trash. I
can not tell you the last time I watched network TV...some dvds, sole
VCR tapes...or when I am forced to see one in a waiting room, assuring
me that I ain't missing shit

Hell, I basically quit watching tv almost 5 years ago.
Got tired of watching reruns that had 10 times more commercials.
Then sitcoms took over with most of them aimed at blacks, by and for
blacks.

On cable, nothing new had been produced.
Movie channels began repeating the same movie 10 or more times per
day!

During the writer's strike, the discovery channel has done nothing but
constant repitition of the same shows. OH yeah, every now and then
they show something new and then repeat that 16 times a week.

What's the fascination with "orange county choppers" anyways?
Outside of the bike being built, it's the same thing every week.
They need writers for that crap?

If we're gonna pay the writers a huge amount of money, at least we
should get some decent entertainment in return.

I check out some of the old radio CD shows in the talking books
section of our public library and I am simply amazed with the stories
and the acting. I feel like I feel through some time warp into a
world with imagination, creativity and sheer entertainment. Well back
to the same thing with JOURNALISM vs. Crapola FOX

The 50,000 commercials for every show is what gets me.......It's bad
enough to watch Garbage without the Dancing Hucksters every other
minute.........The last time I tuned in was to watch the News to see
what the Weather was going to be.........They never did have a
complete Weather Picture in 30 minutes.........It was all snippets in
between Commercials..........I can go to the Computer and get the
Complete Forecast in one minute..........TV SUCKS..........

I'm a late night TV addict, but I cannot recall a year during the past
5 when I have watched a program on network TV (ABC, CBS, or NBC). The
major networks do not want their advertisers to realize this, but
nobody but kids with limited buying power watch network TV anymore.

How long will it take the networks to take a hint. In order of
priority, is watch "House", "Monk", and "Masterpiece Theatre" for
entertainment, and for news turn to CNN or Fox. I also love the series
"How Things are Made" and "Made in America", but these are all cable
shows.

Then too, perhaps I'm odd since I couldn't even tell you the name of
the next "American Idol", since that show is so very crappy that I've
never watched it for more than 3-minites. Yes, I guess I'm strange,
but I'm also one of those clowns who plunks down $50+ for cable,
simply so I can avoid the network crap.
